Nutrition is a corner stone of good health. In many cases food is the best medicine we consume each day. Weigh of Life focuses on teaching people about nutritious foods that support good health and keep the immune system strong to fight off illness and contaminants.

A different topic is covered each week in class, such as:

  • food records, tracking fruit & vegetable consumption
  • reading food labels
  • portion control
  • sodium and blood pressure
  • grocery store tour
  • know your fats
  • diabetic exchange list
  • using the pyramid to plan meals
  • fast food dilemna
  • 5-9 fruits and vegetables a day
  • fiber and vitamins
  • recipe substitutions
  • farmar's maket tour

Reducing your weight, food intake and increasing activity should improve your blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, lipid panel and risk of cancer. If you are on medication, you may reduce or eliminate that expensive part of your life.

We also do computerized individual assessment

and counseling of food intake each month.
